This is from a scene in an RP that I did with my best friend, Sil. She played Schuldich, and I took on the part of an original character named Miki. The scene for this RP was set in a college, and is very AU. Schuldich and Miki are casual friends, as you can see, and they put together this scene for their Drama class.
The scene in question, if you are unfamiliar with the play, is from Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, one of my favorite plays.. ^.^ So thus.... this is created. Enjoy!
Miki picked up the script and surveyed it for a moment, looking over to his scene partner. "I'm Beatrice.. and you're Benedict, right?" He waited for the nod, nodding himself as he looked down at the lines for a moment. He didn't mind playing a female part, after all, there were only male actors in Shakespeares' time. Finding his stance, he fell into character.
Schuldich looked at his script.. "Yup..." He said with a nod as he turned to the right page of the play as he took his place. He cleared his throat lightly...
"I wonder that you will still be talking, Signior Benedick: nobody marks you," said Miki as Beatrice, looking over to his scene partner for the reply.
"What, my dear Lady Disdain! are you yet living?" The redhead said in a smooth voice to the young man acting Beatrice...
"Is it possible disdain should die while she hath such meet food to feed it as Signior Benedick?" A slight sarcastic smile fell over Miki's face as he continued. "Courtesy itself must convert to disdain, if you come in her presence."
Schu paused, studying Miki for a moment... "Then is courtesy a turncoat...." He started... "But it is certain I am loved of all women...only you exepted: And I would I could find in my heart..." He lifted his long fingered hand to rest on his chest..."That I had not a hard heart, for, truly I love none..."
Miki let out a laugh, taking a step forward so he was quite close to Schuldich. "A dear happiness to women: they would else have been troubled with a pernicious suitor." Turning away, he stepped back and turned again to face Schuldich. "I thank God and my cold blood, I am of your humour for that: I had rather hear my dog bark at a crow than a man swear he loves me."
The redhead cleared his throat.. "It's still your go, Miki.." He said softly, as not to ruin the scene.. "I think.." He hadn't moved from his possition as he looked at the script.
Miki blinked and brought the script up to his face and peered, shaking his head quickly and walking over to Schuldich's side to show him. "No no no. Your line." He pointed to the line in the script, showing the tiniest amount of frustration. He couldn't help himself, he was very uptight when it came to stage work, and liked everything to be perfect. Miki needed to learn patience.
"Oh..." Schu said as he looked at the line that he had overlooked... "Sorry about that.." He gave the other student an apologetic look before the other went back to his spot.. Schuldich cleared his throat, wondering why he had chosen Miki as his partner again. Well.. one reason was the other young man could actually act.
"God keep your ladyship still in that mind! so some gentleman or other shall 'scape a predestinate scratched face." The redhead read the line, leaning a little towards Miki.
Miki blinked slightly, a look of surprise coming over his face before settling into a mischevious smile. He stepped forward into Schuldich's space, bringing a long finger up to trace the outline of his jaw as he spoke. "Scratching could not make it worse, an 'twere such a face as yours were." He pulled the finger back quickly and walked away, arms crossed in front of his chest.
Schuldich took in a slight offended huff... "Well, you are a rare parrot-teacher..." He folded his own arms over his chest, watching Miki as if trying not to seem slightly burned at the comment...
Miki chuckled softly and shook his head in amusement. "A bird of my tongue is better than a beast of yours." His smile widened as he delivered the line to the offended Schuldich.
The German exchange student drew his mouth in a sour line, narrowing his eyes a bit. "I would my horse had the speed of your tongue, and so good a continuer." He said as if trying to shoot a good come-back.. "But keep your way, i' God's name; I have done." He looked away...
Huffing a bit, Miki glared at the man standing before him, dropping his voice down to a hard whisper. "You always end with a jade's trick: I know you of old." He held the position for a moment before relaxing and coming up to Schuldich and patting him on the shoulder.
"Good job... I think we'll be ready for presentation, at this rate."
"Thanks..." Schu said after relaxing from the scene... "Sorry about the line..." He pointed to it. "You'd think after three years I would have caught it.." He sighed, then shrugged a bit. "I'm sure it will be worth it..." He said with a smile as he looked at his watch.. "Still early... Have you eaten yet?... I found some granola-y stuff at the health food store that I was going to give you, but I forgot..."
Miki shook his head and stepped back, closing the script and moving over to where he had left his backpack, slipping the script back within. "Don't worry about it... It's easy to forget." He stood back up and ran a hand through his dark brown hair, wishing he had remembered to bring an elastic. At the mention of the granola, he brightened. "No.. I haven't eaten yet... Got up with enough time to shower and get here... You wanna grab something?"
"Sure.. I did the shower thing and got a fruit bar.. but that was it.." He said as he packed his script into his fire red backpack. "I have psych this morning.." He stretched a bit before putting his backpack on... Schu started up the row that lead to the door in the back of the drama hall, he turned, walking backwards.. "But I still have time for breakfast with you.." He smiled a bit.
Miki pulled his schedule out of his pocket and double checked it. "I have Psych too... then just Drama. Easy day today." He hefted his backpack over his shoulder, pulling a pair of thin wire-framed glasses and perching them on his nose. Miki followed after Schuldich, keeping up with the red-head. "Thanks... I hate eating alone," he murmured softly. On the stage, Miki was relaxed, but the minute he stepped back into the real world, he was quite shy.
"Cool.. we have psych together..." Schu smiled a little as he started to walk again. "We can learn how Freud blames everything on his mother..." He laughed softly...
Miki chuckled and nodded as they made their way to the cafeteria. "We'll have to psycho-analyze each other sometime... see what all we can blame on our parents." He grinned.
"I'm sure I can find a lot to blame on my parents..." The redhead laughed again as they walked....soon reaching the nearly empty cafeteria... He looked in.. a few scattered people.. someone harrassing one of the 'doom students' as he called them... poor Farferello... "I wonder if they actually have anything good for breakfast this morning.." He said as he started over towards the food area.
